BAWARA REBRANDING
About Bawara:
Bawara is an Indian Restaurant and Hakka Bar nestled in Downtown Toronto. The name "Bawara," meaning "crazy" or "insane" in a playful way in Hindi, has a delightful story behind it. Overwhelmed with his job at a hotel in Toronto, Chef Gunateet decided to take a bold leap and start his own restaurant. That very day, he called his mom back in India to share his plan. Her reaction? She called him "Bawara!" But she also encouraged him to follow his passion. And so, Bawara was born—a place where culinary dreams come to life with a dash of madness and a whole lot of love.
Inspiration Behind the Illustration:
Chef Gunateet has travelled the world, honing his skills and spreading his love for Indian and Hakka cuisine. Everyone who knows him can feel his fiery passion for food and life. The illustration captures this perfectly, symbolizing his wild love for culinary arts. He creates crazy magic in the kitchen, delivering a burst of flavour in every bite.
Bawara's colour palette is a visual treat, inspired by the vibrant colours of food and garnishes. We've packed our visuals with warm tones like orange, yellow, and red to make you hungry instantly. For a refreshing contrast, we’ve added hints of green, like cilantro on a hot plate of butter chicken and naan. It's a playful mix of colours that will make your mouth water before you even taste the food!
The logo showcases bold, thick typography set against a vibrant burst background, symbolizing the explosion of flavours that dance on your tongue and the exhilarating rush that follows. It captures the true “Bawara” sensation, screaming that the food is
insanely delicious!
